The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Gender Galaxy

Many people think of gender and gender expression on a linear scale, when the reality is much more expansive than that. There’s somewhere in the realm of 72 different gender identities, resembling more of a 3D expansive universe. This course will begin to delve into the intricacies of the gender binary and the fluidity of human expression, emphasizing the importance of embracing and celebrating diverse identities within the LGBT+ community. AKA: pronouns, the difference between sex, gender, and gender expression, and discussing some more common gender identities.
We all face struggles of self-discovery, finding acceptance, and the quest for belonging in a universe that echoes our own. Occasionally, when we take the time to learn about others, we also may discover valuable insights about ourselves.
Note: This course is designed for those who seek to broaden their understanding of LGBT+ identities and foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for all individuals. It encourages open dialogue, empathy, and a commitment to promoting acceptance and understanding within diverse communities.
About the Presenter:
Storm, @queerdemon_, (they/them) is an Agender Demon that can be found most often out at The Woodshed Orlando. They most often assume the form of Top, Dominant to @sinsilvers, sadist, general mischief maker, and rigger. They found their first community in Tennessee back in 2017, but have spent most of their time since dwelling in Central Florida, sinking deep roots into the community and investing in its health, wellness, and growth. In addition to being staff at The Woodshed Orlando, they also head up Orlando’s The Next Generation. They are an educator in all facets of their life and love bringing that knowledge to their community, which has given so much to them.
This class will be happening both in person at The Woodshed and vitually via Zoom!
