The purpose of this group is to provide a judgment free space to ask open ended religious & philosophical questions and answer them from various schools of thought via text study & discussion.
This event is an interest meeting where we will discuss rules, preferred day & time of meetings, preferred methods of communication, suggestions for the discord server, and the format of later discussions.
What topics will this group be discussing? Here are some sample topics:
- What makes something right or wrong?
- If there is/are God(s), what qualities do they have to have in order to be God/a god?
- What is the “best” way to deal with suffering?
- Should there be universal definitions for the words ‘safe,’ ‘sane,’ and ‘consensual?’ If so, what are they; if not, how do we practice kink ethnically?
- Is there a meaning of life? What does that question itself mean?
This group is not…
- A debate club where the fastest, loudest, or most aggressive point “wins”
- A place to teach any particular point of view or convert people to a particular religion

- A place where thoughtful, reflective adults can gather to learn & explore thoughts of inquiry
- A community which welcomes and encourages all participants to develop self-confidence in their own thinking
